Wild Challenge

Our school is taking part in the RSPB's Wild Challenge.  Through a series of activities, we can have loads of fun connecting with nature and helping to undertsand wildlife.  There are three levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold.  In each level, we aim to complete three 'Help Nature' activities, and three 'Experience Nature' activities.  Then we can earn award certificates!  Our Golden Time Nature Group loves to take part in Wild Challenge, as there is something different to do every week.  You can even take part as a family at home if you want to register and find out more, here

Bug Hotel in the Wild Wood

Habitat Heaps - Bronze level

We made a stone pile for creatures to hide in. We can't disturb it.

Planting for Wildlife - Bronze Level

We sowed a mini-meadow wild flower bed for the bees!

Homes for Minibeasts - Bronze Level

We built things for our bug hotel!

Plant Safari - Bronze Level

We explored the school grounds collecting leaves and twigs to identify what's growing.  It was tricky!

Big Schools' Birdwatch - Bronze Level

In February, we completed our birdwatch survey from the school grounds.  We saw Starlings the most, and Great Tits the least.  This shows our results.  We loved using our new binoculars!

Bioblitz - Bronze Level

We used the identification sheets to record all the different forms of wildlife we could find in the Wild Wood.
